QJ Motor SRK 400 : Chinese manufacturer QJ Motor has entered the Indian motorcycle market with the SRK 400, a bike designed to compete with established rivals like the KTM Duke 390 and Honda CB300R. With its aggressive styling, strong performance, and attractive pricing, the SRK 400 aims to attract riders looking for a fresh alternative in the middleweight segment.
Bold and Eye-Catching Design
The SRK 400 stands out with its sharp, streetfighter-inspired styling. The muscular fuel tank, trellis frame, and angular front fairing give it a futuristic and aggressive look. Full LED lighting, including a distinctive headlamp, enhances visibility while adding to its modern appeal. The split seats, stubby tail section, and integrated exhaust further emphasize its sporty character. Bold graphics and alloy wheels complete the package, ensuring the bike turns heads wherever it goes.
Strong Performance with a Twin-Cylinder Engine
At the heart of the SRK 400 sits a 400cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke parallel-twin engine that produces 41.4 hp and 37 Nm of torque. The engine does have a good mid-range punch and is strong enough to challenge the KTMs Duke 390. Six-speed transmission shifts smoothly and precisely, whether maneuvering through city traffic or winding along a back road. That twin-cylinder note is also music to our ears though, and further contributes to the machine’s playful personality.

Modern Digital Dashboard
Handsome new retro / future fully digital full-color TFT instruments present every crucial piece of information (speed, rpm, gear position, fuel level, range, remaining fuel, average fuel consumption, instantaneous fuel consumption, average speed, battery voltage) with style and readability. I was also impressed by the screen which is quite bright and can be used outdoors. There is no smartphone integration built in now, but the bike will receive future over-the-air updates that could add even more features to stay current with the times.
Balanced Handling and Comfort
The machine has 37mm upside-down front forks and in the rear mono-shock, resulting in a good compromise between sporty handling and ride comfort. The frame offers stability at high surface velocities, and agility in the city. SRK 400 has a seat height of 785 mm which can be ridden by people of average height easily. The position is a little leaned forward, that’s cool for getting a hurry on and for cruising hazard if you know what I mean.
Confident Braking and Safety Features
Safety is assured with twin front disc brakes and a single rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS providing robust stopping power in all conditions. Extra safety features consist of a turning on emergency light as well as an engine stop secure. The bike has a minimum ground clearance of 170mm and there is some good crash protection in the form of a solid build to protect it on falls.
Practicality and Fuel Efficiency
Despite being next-level performance-oriented, the SRK 400 is still a bike for everyday use. It offers a mileage of around 25-28 kmpl, great numbers, for a 400cc twin. You also have a range of more than 300 km from the 13.5 litre tank, good for your city commute and your weekend gets away. Useful features such as grab rails and a large pillion seat only enhance its practicality.
Competitive Pricing and Market Appeal
At ₹3.59 lakh (ex-showroom), it is priced competitively against competition such as the KTM Duke 390, while having the same performance and equipment on offer. QJ Motor bills it as a value-oriented alternative to riders who want premium design and performance without the premium price tag. Over time, as the brand increases its service network in India, ownership will become less of an issue.
Final Verdict
The QJ Motor SRK 400 is an interesting proposition for India’s performance motorcycle market. Aggressive styling, a potent engine, and an attractive price book in its favor as well, and give it something to challenge the big boys. For those shopping for an affordable middleweight motorcycle that is also fun to ride, the SRK 400 is worth considering.
